Going Green & Sustainable:
Managing, Marketing and Making Money

   Join us for a discussion about the national trends of ‘going green and sustainable’ and how those trends are impacting local businesses and our regional market place. Speakers will identify resources for businesses interested in going green and sustainable including the new Green Plus small business certification program.
   Attendees will also hear about best practices in businesses across sectors and specifically from the leadership of a regional restaurant group, the changes they have made and how those changes are paying off in a big way. Panelists include:

- Chris Carmody, MBA, director of the Sustainable Business Initiative, Institute for Sustainable Development

- Aaron Nelson, IOM, executive director of the Foundation for a Sustainable Community and president and CEO of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce

- Greg Overbeck, partner of Chapel Hill Restaurant Group (including MEZ in Durham)

- Jonathan Estes, author of Smart Green: How to Implement Sustainable Business Practices in Any Industry – and Make Money (March 2009).
