11/17/2009 |
(Morrisville, N.C.) The Research Triangle Park’s local business advocacy organization, the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce, held a successful networking and ribbon cutting event November 12 to celebrate the opening of the innovative Manor Village of Preston retirement community located at the corner of Chapel Hill Road and Cary Parkway.
Dozens of Morrisville community business and political leaders joined members of the Board of Directors for the Chamber, Manor Village staff and president and CEO Dr. Garth Mann, and Town of Morrisville officials in networking and welcoming the state-of-the-art, 166-unit senior living facility to the area.
“With such a focus on healthcare and quality-of-life issues nationally and in the Triangle, we’re thrilled to have a complete care retirement community right here in town to support our Morrisville seniors and their long-term needs,” said Sharon Rosche’, Morrisville Chamber of Commerce president, adding, “It’s one more addition to our fine family of businesses making Morrisville a sought-after place to live.”
The Manor Village of Preston is based on a wellness model versus an “illness” model, according to General Manager Tom Stewart.
“We have a professionally run wellness center focused on a holistic and preventative approach to maintaining our residents’ health, wellness and independence, which compliments our myriad of entertainment, shopping, and educational programs where folks can interact with one another and pursue a vibrant, active lifestyle,” he said.
Amenities at the Manor Village of Preston include healthy menu selections prepared by an executive chef in a full-scale commercial kitchen; multiple dining rooms; a movie theater; chapel; game room with pool tables and televisions; a computer room; banquet facilities; a convenience store and café; complimentary transportation to shopping and other area attractions; on-site physician services; and 24/7 security.
“About 30 percent of our square footage is common area – we’re kind-of like a cruise ship on land,” Stewart said.
Attendees of the November 12 event enjoyed a sumptuous assortment of heavy hors’d oeuvres and international delicacies all prepared by Executive Chef Guy Bross, formerly of The Umstead Hotel and Spa, in addition to other refreshments and tours of the facility including visits to its spacious one and two bedroom suites with all amenities including full kitchen, living and dining rooms and in suite laundry.
Founded and family owned since 1996, The Manor Village at Preston is the new standard in independent, elegant yet intimate retirement communities. Aptly called “The Community with Heart,” the Manor’s focus is on the well-being and peace of mind of their residents and respective families. For more information visit www.themanorvillage.com.
