Morrisville Chamber of Commerce Steps into Second Year of Motivating and Connecting Area Women Through its Knowledgeable Network of Women (KNOW) Luncheon Series

2010 Brings New ‘Kick it Forward’ Campaign Asking Luncheon Attendees to Donate Interview-Ready Attire for Dress for Success Triangle

January 11, 2010 (Morrisville, N.C.) – The Research Triangle Park’s local business advocacy organization, the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce, is stepping into its second year of offering Knowledgeable Network of Women (KNOW) networking luncheons to motivate and connect Triangle women. Beginning with its initial event at the Prestonwood Country Club on Jan. 20, 2010 at 11:30 a.m., KNOW is kicking off its year-long ‘Kick it Forward’ campaign by asking all event attendees to donate lightly used, interview ready attire to support Dress for Success Triangle.

January’s luncheon, facilitated by Deidre Hughey, in partnership with Lenovo, is titled, “Three Keys to Using Social Media Effectively and Keeping Your Teenagers Safe.” Deidre is founder and president of The BUZZ Builder, a company focused on helping speakers and authors build a buzz using online strategies. She will address the major impact that social media has on the way we do business and stay in touch. Deidre will make sense of the mayhem for social media newbies and experienced users alike.

“We’re excited about the 2010 KNOW events planned as well as our partnership with Dress for Success Triangle,” said Sharon Rosche, president of the Morrisville Chamber of Commerce. “We hope to continue connecting and motivating Triangle-area women by offering dynamic luncheon presentations and ensuring that all women have an interview-ready outfit when needed.”

Costs to attend the event are $35 for employees of member firms and $50 for non-members. Attendees who donate clothes at any of the KNOW luncheons will receive a five dollar voucher that may be used towards a future KNOW event.
